What's love got to do with it?

Not only is it a song by the incredible Tina Turner, but it’s also a feeling that people need to experience when they step inside their dream home. Buying a home is a hugely emotional process, but when you find the right one, some of that stress begins to melt away.

According to Wikipedia, Love encompasses a variety of strong and positive emotional and mental states, ranging from the most sublime virtue or good habit, the deepest interpersonal affection and to the simplest pleasure. Basically it means that you are able to look past the dated curtains hanging in the kitchen and through the window to see the backyard BBQ that you will have with your family and friends. And the paint color in the bathroom doesn’t scare you away because you can hear your children giggling as you give them their baths. That’s what love is. It’s one of the strongest emotions that enables you to make decisions based on how you feel.

Now imagine stepping into a home that has been professionally staged. Where each room is better than the last. Where each room is bright and inviting. Where the kitchen has enough space to cook for an army and you can envision how you will begin to make new memories in this wonderful home.

People are drawn to spaces and things that represent them and make them happy. Emphasizing a small reading nook for cold rainy days will definitely appeal to kids and bookworms alike. And setting up a sunny front porch where buyers can enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine will make those spaces much more inviting and will draw in a buyer. They need to find joy in their future home before they even own it. Think about the things that drew you to the home and be inspired by that. Patch the walls, paint your bathroom and present your home so others will fall in love with it, just like you did. So when Tina Turner asks, ‘What’s love got to do with it,” Well, the answer is... Everything. Get your home sold faster and for more money, and get excited about the next phase in your journey.
